Traditional French Toast Casseroles can have so much sugar! Most baked french toast recipes have a ton of sugar. While, this still has sugar, I added a substitution to reduce it.

How to Make The Best French Toast Casserole
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F, and lightly spray your 9 x 13 casserole dish.
Then you'll want to cube the French bread into bite size pieces and place into prepared dish. Set aside.
The kids had so much fun cutting these up! We used these kid friendly knives.
Next in a food processor puree pitted dates, melted butter and vanilla.
Give it a whirl in your processor.
Move date mixture into a mixing bowl and fold in the eggs and milk.
In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar truvia, the cinnamon and the nutmeg.
Your next step is to stir in half of the cinnamon mix into the egg batter. Pour batter over cubed bread in the casserole dish, making sure bread is evenly soaked.
Top with remaining cinnamon mix and pecan pieces. Finally, bake for 30-40 minutes and enjoy warm. Serve with fruit or favorite topping.

- This recipe is best fresh. There are no preservatives in the recipe.
- How long will it keep in the fridge?
- You can happily keep them in the fridge for a day or two. Microwave it to heat it up a bit. It's best out of the oven though, since sometimes after a day it becomes soggy depending on what bread you use.
