How to Make Swedish Meatballs
To make the meatballs, mix together beef, panko, onion, egg, garlic powder in a big bowl, season with salt and pepper, then shape to small meatballs.
In a pan, heat up the olive oil. Add in the meat balls and cook until the bottoms are golden brown; flip all of the meatballs and cook till the other size is perfectly golden. Take out all the meatballs and keep them aside.
Add butter to the large pan and let it foam up. Stir in the flour and whisk until it is evenly mixed with the butter. Cook for 2 minutes over medium low heat and stir constantly.
Then slowly add in the beef broth.
After this, add in the heavy cream, bring to a simmer. Add in the Worcestershire sauce, season with salt and pepper.
Add the meatballs back and cook for another 2 minutes. Check the doneness of the meatballs by cutting one open.
In another pot, cook egg noodles as directed. I've tried several kinds including extra wide or pappardelle egg noodles.
Cook's tip:
You can make this into a one pan/pot dish by just cooking the pasta in the sauce. I know some folks are particular with how pasta is cooked so I added the option of cooking the pasta in a separate pot.
Assemble egg noodle on a plate and add the meatballs on top
Sprinkle with parsley, for garnish.
Cook's Tips:
