- Quick and Easy – This recipe is so simple and it is done in only 15 minutes! This recipe will easily make its way into your list of “go-to”s. It's an unprocessed chicken nugget that is great for you! It has no bread crumbs, yet still has a nice texture to it.
- Anything Goes – These chicken patties are delicious all on their own, but they can also be used in lots of other ways. You can make them into sandwiches, or serve them atop pasta. There are tons of possibilities!

Ingredients For Chicken Patty Recipe
- Cooked Chicken – Canned chicken will work fine, but I especially love using this recipe as a way to repurpose leftover rotisserie chicken. My favorite is chicken breast but any leftover is fine, just remove the skin. Ground chicken probably won't yield the best texture however.
- Eggs – Eggs will function as the binder in this recipe, providing even more protein to the dish.
- Salt & Pepper – Salt and black pepper for seasoning.
- Garlic Powder – Garlic is essential for flavor.
- Minced Onion – If you don’t have dried minced onion, you can swap it for onion powder.
- Smoked Paprika – This will add a nice, subtle kick of spice.
- Parmesan Cheese – Use fresh, shredded parmesan. It not only adds to the taste of the dish, but also helps to bind the patties, so grated parmesan will not work as a replacement.
- Spinach – Spinach is packed with vitamins A, C, and K. It is also an excellent source of iron.
- Celery – This antioxidant-rich veggie will provide a little crunch to the dish.
- Coconut Oil – Coconut oil contains healthy fatty acids that help your body to burn fat and stay full longer. You can sub with olive oil as well.
How To Make Chicken Patties
- Combine cooked chicken, eggs, salt, garlic powder, minced onion, pepper, smoked paprika, parmesan, spinach and celery in a large mixing bowl.
- Firmly pack and form equal sized patties, about 10. They may be delicate but when heated the cheese will meld the patties together.
- Heat oil in a large pan, and shallow fry the patties until golden on all sides. (about 2-3 minutes). Let cool and enjoy.
Step by Step Instructions
First, place your patty ingredients in a large bowl. Mix chicken, eggs, salt, garlic powder, minced onion, pepper, smoked paprika, parmesan, spinach, and celery until combined.
Next, you'll want to form the mixture into tight patties of equal size. This recipe makes about 10 patties. Don’t worry if they are a little bit flimsy, as the parmesan will hold them together once cooked. I like to use a cookie scooper and place them on some parchment paper as I prepare them. Heat the coconut oil in a frying pan on medium heat. Allow your patties to shallow fry in the oil until golden brown on all sides, a few minutes per side. This should take around 2-3 minutes. The oil has absorbed here a bit, but feel free to add a generous amount for a nice fry.
Remove patties from pan and cool before serving. Serve with ranch or ketchup.
Cook's Tips
- If you are using canned chicken to make this recipe, pat it as dry as possible before adding it to your mixing bowl. If using left over chicken, cut the chicken into small pieces.
- You can store your keto chicken nuggets in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, or in the freezer for up to 2 months. It's perfect for a meal prep meal plan!
- To reheat leftovers, microwave for 60 seconds or warm on the stovetop.
- For ultra picky eaters, you can run the ingredients in a food processor for a few runs to make the vegetables extra fine.
Combine cooked chicken, eggs, cheese, veggies and spices in a bowl and shape into patties. Fry for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown.
You can pan fry them on medium heat for 5 minutes on each side, air fry them at 390 for 7 minutes, or bake at 375 for 25 minutes.
While many premade chicken patties may be highly processed and consist of breading and other fillers, these chicken patties are made of real chicken and veggies – only the good stuff!
You can serve them on its own, on buns, as sandwiches, or use these patties to make your own chicken parmesan. Serve them with a fresh salad or roasted veggies. The possibilities are unlimited!

Great simple recipe. I air fried the patties and they came out nice a toasty. .
Love this recipe. There are some many things you can add to these. My husband ate his like a burger on a toasted roll. I topped mine with a spoonful of salsa and sour cream.
We love this recipe! With tons of my canned chicken to use I was looking for something different the chicken salad. When serving I drizzle chicken wing sauce on top of patty and add a dollop of blu cheese. My husband loves them, thanks!
