- Flour – Make sure you use self-rising flour, or your blondies will not bake correctly.
- White Chocolate Chips – Creamy white chocolate adds sweetness and richness to these spooky treats.
- Marshmallows – You will melt these down to form your cobwebs. Mini marshmallows work best.
- Plastic Spiders – What good are webs without spiders? You can get cheap plastic ones from the dollar store, or craft something edible if you prefer.

Step by Step Instructions
To begin, preheat your oven to 350 F. Prepare an 8 x 8 square baking pan by lightly greasing and lining with parchment paper.
While your oven is preheating, prepare your batter. First, add your peanut butter and eggs to a large mixing bowl. Mix together using a sturdy whisk, or use an electric hand mixer on low speed.
Add your self-rising flour to the bowl and mix until combined. Fold in the white chocolate chips. Your blondie dough should have a similar consistency to cookie dough.
Next, pat your dough into the pan evenly and bake for 22-25 minutes, until done.
Allow your bars s to cool completely, and then remove them from the pan.
Now it is time to decorate them! To make your cobwebs, place your mini marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 45 seconds. Remove your marshmallows from the microwave and stir.
Once your marshmallow has cooled enough to touch, mash a few tablespoons between your fingertips until it reaches the desired consistency. Gently wrap the marshmallow across the dough in a web shape. This process works best if you coat your fingers with a little cooking spray or oil before beginning. Repeat until your the entire square looks like they’re covered in cobwebs! Finally, add your plastic spiders and cut into squares, using a greased knife.
Cook's Tips
- These are best kept at room temperature for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
- If you don’t have self-rising flour, or if you need to use gluten free flour, you can make your own by mixing 1 cup of all-purpose or gluten free flour with ½ tsp baking powder and ¼ tsp salt. Whisk until thoroughly combined, and then measure out the ¾ cup needed for this recipe.
- If you would rather make edible spiders to go on top of your blondies, melt dark chocolate chips with a little coconut oil in the microwave. Stir until chips are completely melted, then transfer your melted chocolate into an icing bag. Pipe spider shapes onto a parchment-lined baking pan and cover with plastic wrap. Freeze until chocolate is set (about 15-20 minutes.) Peel parchment paper back and the spiders should fall away easily. Decorate your blondies with your little eight-legged friends.
FAQ
Brownies and blondies are similar desserts, but brownies are made using cocoa powder, which gives them their signature chocolatey flavor.
Blondies can turn spongy if they are overbaked. Check your blondies after 22 minutes, and insert a toothpick. If the toothpick comes out clean, they are ready to remove from the oven.
You may have been told not to play with your food growing up, but we are breaking the rules here! Microwave some mini marshmallows and stir. Once they are cool enough to touch, mash them between your fingers and spread out across your blondies in a web shape.

Cob Web Halloween Snacks
Ingredients
- 3 ½ cups No Stir Peanut Butter crunchy or smooth
- 3 Eggs room temp
- ¾ cup Self-Rising Flour
- 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
- 1 cup Mini Marshmallows
Instructions
- Preheat oven 350F and grease a square baking pan. You may line with parchment paper as well for easier unpanning.
- In a mixing bowl whisk together the eggs and peanut butter. It will be difficult to mix so use a sturdy whisk or a hand mixer on low.
- Mix in the self-rising flour and white chocolate chips. The dough will be nice and thick like a cookie dough.
- Pat dough, evenly, into a prepared pan and bake for 22-25 minutes. When done let cool thoroughly before unpanning.
- Only once the blondies have cooled, prepare the marshmallows to make cob webs. Start by microwaving the marshmallows in a bowl for 45 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir the melted marshmallows to cool enough to touch.
- When the marshmallow is touchable, grab a couple tablespoons worth and mash it between your fingers to make it stretchy and webby. I highly recommend using non-stick cooking spray or oil to grease your hands and intermittently washing your hands to prevent too much sticking. Gently place on and around the unpanned blondies in a wrapping motion. This does get messy but keep repeating the process until your blondies have the desired amount of cobwebs.
- Decorate with the plastic spiders and cut with a greased knife.
